#TRUTHIS I am so grateful to be alive and keep on living.  As crazy as this world is there are lessons that I am learning everyday.  I misplaced my positive hat on Monday, but located it today.  Unfortunately there is a small hole in it, but it should be easy to mend.  #TRUTHIS I didn't look to hard for that hat on Monday.  It was one of those days.  Now, knowing that my thoughts control just about every damn thing about the way I feel, I could have changed them but ya know what...I didn't want to.  It's funny how on days like that some of the craziest, most unexpected things can pop up and make you smile. Even my bad days are a blessing.
So Monday was somewhat of a loss. And now it's time to move on....

#TRUTHIS There is so much that could be said about the cast of this years Celebrity Apprentice.  The cast is QUITE entertaining.  NeNe Leakes did a  great job as project manager and  Lil John held it down for the fellas as PM last week.  Bravo for surprises!!!  If y'all aren't watching, definitely check it out.  LaToya Jackson...well, everyone just thinks is stupid, but she fought her way out of elimination and I'm curious to see what she will do when it is her time to be PM.  I think she may surprise some people.  Now on to Ms. Dionne... So, folks were feeling some kinda way about Dionne Warwicks departure from Celebrity Apprentice.  I personally, think that she "made her own bed".  Her being a legend has nothing to do with it.  It's a competition, folks.  She is still a legend...no one is taking that from her. Chill out.  As my homey, Karen said "Dionne should have seen that coming with her Psychic network and all"! *Too funny!* 


She stayed as long as she could.

#TRUTHIS Beyonce and her long time manager, Mathew Knowles, her daddy, split their business relationship.   All good things must come to an end. #TRUTHIS as a total daddy's girl, I feel for them, b/c ANY type of  long time relationship that crumbles means something ain't working out. But let's see where she can go from here without his business support.  She's certainly at the top now and I'm not sure to much could make her stumble- and certainly not as Mrs. Carter. I wonder how much influence Jay had in this one... :) I wonder how much the rolling stone portion of daddy-o, had anything to do with this...or not..

#TRUTHIS I believe it is important that we know our history.  It is important to me that my children know their history and current events.  I recently got "The Untold Story of Emmett Till" for all of us to watch together.  I was hesitant for a moment to show them because I knew that the questions would follow, which I could only answer with "Ignorance".  I also knew the fact that he was 14 when he was murdered would stick with them. I pressed play and their eyes were glued (so were mine).  Avery was frightened at points and still doesn't understand "Why he was killed because he whistled at a woman?"  So glad things have changed a bit, but proud that my children will not only know Nick Jr., Justin Bieber and Nintendo DSI's, but will know the realities of life, past, present and future...  RIP Emmett Louis Till. If you haven't seen it...check it out. #TRUTHIS It's not just Black History, it is part of American History.

What's really going on?

 #TRUTHIS sending out prayers to everyone in Libya and those suffering from the recent Tsunami and Earthquakes in Japan.  The death toll is STILL on the rise. Here we are more than 10 days later, and folks are taking their first baths since the incidents. THIS COULD EASILY BE HAPPENING TO US! We have to get out of the mindset that this is all happening so far away.  We are all affected in some way.  Everything means something y'all.  We really need to seek out the meaning of these tragedies. Everything is a sign...

#TRUTHIS I like to keep my kids up on current events, so the morning of the Tsunami, I had my oldest watching the news and reporting to me about what she heard.  Bless her little six year old heart- She came running into my room with tears in her eyes and said "Mommy, they said it's coming to the United States and Addyson (her little sis) can't swim!!"  This warmed my heart, as I'm thinking to myself...that's not even a guarantee of survival.  I love how much they love each other...as it should be. I love my babies and their sweet innocence.



Team Breezy?!

  #TRUTHIS While I am not as entertained by Charlie Sheen, I do love #WINNING. I wish him the absolute best. Can't and won't knock his hustle.  I think we are all a little crazy to a certain extent, which leads me to Chris Breezy.  First of all, I am not a CB die hard, like LoveQueen, but I really did enjoy his Transformers video and I especially enjoyed his escape scene in Takers.  As unrealistic as it was, I probably watched it about three times.  Gangsta!  He is a talented, tatted brotha, and nice looking (not really feeling the blond).  Also, got a chance to peep those leaked pics....not to bad.  ;P However, upon hearing about his reaction to the GMA interview today, I think he is still really struggling.  I don't know... Robin Roberts does annoy the hell out of me, I will say that.  But, she was doing her job.  His reps maybe should have prepared him better about the continuing Rihanna questions. (Which apparently he knew were coming). He tried to stay on track.  You can see his frustration mounting and hear Robins nervous laugher.  However, he HAD to do the interview to hype up his new album, right! 
 So, following the interview, the reports are that he was so pissed, that he went into his dressing room, was screaming so loud, security was called and to top it all off, he broke a window with a chair before heading out into Times Square shirtless.  (Super close to violating his probation) It bees like that sometimes..  He tweeted (yes I follow him) "I’m so over people bringing this past shit up!!! Yet we praise Charlie sheen and other celebs for there bullshit.”   Yeah, that was um quickly taken down.  I do like him and don't think this will really affect his album sales. Early AM walk along the beach.

 Ahhhhh... R&R&W! (W being work) Took a nice little trip down South to Marco Island, FLORIDA for a week! Perfect weather.  Perfect company.  My sister brought my nephew Kole down for his first out of state trip (8 months old).  We had a blast!  Had a couple friends who made the trip up to kick it from Miami, too!  And of course, Ciroc was kept on stash. #TRUTHIS All of these variables made the trip even that much better- not to mention that damn near everything was comp'd. Oh, and of course then the NFLPA showed up...Event Planning definitely has it's benefits!

Funny thing is how fast "vacation" comes to an end.  The morning after I got back, I hear Avery yelling from the kitchen "Stop, Drop & Roll!"  I walk into the kitchen and she has attemped to flip the toaster streudel in the oven over, and the oven mitt has hit the burners, causing the mitt to catch fire. LOL.  I can laugh now because, she was so calm and not hurt. (So glad she didn't Stop, Drop and Roll in this case). I ran it under water and we rolled out, leaving the smell of burnt fabric behind.  Welcome Back!

#TRUTHIS DC is my playground! Went to an old skool party and had a ball!  Funny thing is, my definition of old skool clearly isn't theirs!! I went up in there expecting to hear lots of Marvin, Luther, Temptations, Patti, Dare I say Smokey (haha).  I had it ALL wrong- OKAY! Not that there is anything wrong with the above because I can get down to that too.  (I think we have all had our moments in the blue light or shall I say red light basement parties ;)

Anyway, they were jamming to Prince, Michael, Beyonce, Salt and Peppa, even some Mary J!  They got down to Mary J, nah y'all! (As you will see in the video above) We were all on our feet! I swear, I left there feeling GREAT and looking forward to the remaining birthdays that I will hopefully be blessed to have.  Age ain't nuthing but a number! ;)

Speaking of which....I got one coming up in a month.  Time to get to planning the celebration...I am thankful for so much!  So, so, so much! I love my life and the people in it.

#TRUTHISFINALTHOUGHTS we are all chameleons, taking it one day at a time. For most of us, each day is different, but it is the life that we live based on the decisions that we make and the cards that we are dealt. And it's really okay, as long as we are okay with it. Try not to stress. You find what/who you can tolerate and that is what it is.  No time for a whole lot of questions or trying to understand.  Just rock with it. Tick tock!

#TRUTHIS I'M ALWAYS IN A NEW YORK STATE OF MIND!

#TRUTHIS I love New York...the energy of the city is amazing to me! There is just nothing like it...all the different flavors, the air of greatness, spirits with grind embedded in their souls, and passions overflowing.  It had been a minute since I was in a NEW YORK STATE OF MIND so I headed to the city to see my gorgeous cousin and her beautiful lil man, Liso as well as celebrate my girl Crystyles' b-day party.

#TRUTHIS My sistercousin Niki is amazing and seeing her face brightens my day. I really admire her strength and how she live fearlessly for the love of her family.  She's gorgeous in and out so you would only expect her Liso to be the man too. He is the most swag'd out 2-year New Yorker u ever wanna meet! Shockingly he gave me so much love this time wit his fiesty self.  I love them and it was a great way to start my trip.

#TRUTHIS I was so excited to arrive at Crys' house and meet another dope cutie pie who happens to be her daughter, Lyra.  I don't know if it is because she is Cancer but we had an immediate connection and I loved her cheeks, sweet lil voice and personality.  Of course, it was great to see my girl Crys too.  We are the total odd couple friends but somehow it just works out well....

#TRUTHIS Crys' b-day celebration was so LOVELY!  It went down at Beauty & Essex which is a dope ass spot in the city with food that is equally as yummy.  Beauty & Essex looks like a storefront but walk in and you are immediately lead thru the back door which reveals so much more.  Once you are through that door, you have arrived at the most gorgeous venue packed with beautiful people and a pearl stranded ceiling chandelier to match. 

#TRUTHIS All of Crystal's friends were amazing and all of them were very similar to her - successful, ambitious go-getters with unique crafts.  Ranging from a Boutique Owner to a Entertainment Attorney to a Marketing Guru to a Celebrity Hairstylist and Salon Owner and of course, a LoveQueen..duh! :)  Seriously tho, it was a great energy and I had a KILLER time. 

#TRUTHIS THESE ARE SOME OF THE MOST GORGEOUS SHOES I'VE EVER SEEN....I loved em so much that I would have traded in my kitten heels for them. 

#TRUTHIS Ms. Crystal  Streets was giving LIFE in her birthday dress...OUR MISSION THRU THE CITY WAS COMPLETED WITH THIS WINNER!

#TRUTHIS The Native New Yorker will always have a special place in my heart for the city.  Even though DC is where I need to be to finish up a few things.  I know that God's got me on my path.  My motto is never question where you are in this life because it is where you are intended to be. Don't look back at the past or be still in the present...always keep moving straight ahead to your future because BETTER LIES IN FRONT OF YOU!

#TRUTHIS After a beautiful weekend with the sunroof open and music turned up, I am definitely getting the fever! SPRING FEVER!!  I can’t wait for the sunshine, warm weather, colorful moods and canvas of spring and summer! I am in love with the atmosphere that it brings.
 

#TRUTHIS I only wish that the stink bugs would stay away and never ever return.  But being that those nasty things made it through the harsh winter, I am doubtful.  I can’t even be mad, though because they fought the good fight- and won. Ugh and Yuck!!!

#TRUTHIS RANDOM THOUGHTS Just like Mariah loves butterflies, I love bumble bees! My very first tat was of a colorful cartoon bumble bee. I still remember going to the shop in ATL with my girls, Nashetta, Iman and Kamala. ;) All ready for our first taste of the "ink".

I couldn’t imagine actually being a bumble bee, though. I don't think that would work out so well for me.  True, life would probably be a lot shorter because I know that I would sting the hell out of someone with a quickness. J But I really like the idea of having a stinger. It screams- Don't f with me!!

Butterflies are beautiful, but way to boring and defenseless. Really, just a cuter version of a fly! Lol . OK, a MUCH cuter version.  But, how do they defend themselves?? I need a stinger! Most people are so afraid of anything with a stinger-myself included, and yet I love the "respect" they demand! They are almost never alone, too.  It’s like an insect drive-by. They roll upon you, most times without notice or because you have done something to piss them off, (sometimes unbeknownst to you) and you have not heeded their warning. They just use their little stinger ass to f- up your moment because you have f-ed with theirs!  Kind of like some humans, I know...

What I don't understand though, is why is it that bees and wasps die after they sting? That doesn't seem fair! They should at least get 50 stings! I mean, they don't sting just for fun. Those pesky mosquitoes suck the blood out of you and get to see another day!  Why should they die b/c they are protecting themselves, territory or loved ones? And yet whom or whatever they sting only feels the pain temporarily and will soon forget about it. And yet they have given up their life?! What's up with that? I wonder if they know that if they sting just once, that it's a wrap for them? And if they did, would they still do it.  They knew in The Bee Movie…:)

#TRUTHIS Fair is just a word in the dictionary. All of the pros and cons, that I mentioned above, can be applied to the human experience too.  We have people dying every day to protect what is important to them, whether it be freedom, family, beliefs, rights, or just a place in line.  One shot. That's all. We all get one shot at this…

#TRUTHIS We all have stingers.  It is just in a different location on us.  It is on our face.  Yup, that MOUTH can spew off words that can tear a person to shreds…Words are POW-ER-FUL! Be mindful of the words that you use, because while you may have forgotten them- the person that they were used towards won't.  And, they can never really be taken back.  They can bring about hearty laughter and immense pain.  Choose wisely.

On second thought, I remember when my sister got stung by the jellies...she was UP OUT that water.  Maybe a jellyfish would be better than a bumble bee. I could sting the hell out of anyone interrupting my peace and keep it moving… Hmmm... Watch out, biyches!!... Well, at least until a shark comes… ;)
