That is clearly not the case with Barry. I love to watch him walk and listen to him talk. He exudes genuine sincerity and grabs hold of the crowd. It also doesn’t hurt that he is just sexy, with that swag on full attack!  Loves him.

#TRUTHIS flashback- Speaking of big things- Can you believe that it has been 25 years since the CHALLENGER disaster?  I'll never forget that.  That was the first year my school district moved the sixth grade to the Jr. high.  They divided the the sixth graders into three teams.  Columbia, Discovery and Challenger.  Guess which one, I was on? 25 years...Some of y'all weren't even born....  I remember watching and just 73 seconds after takeoff...that image of the explosion burned in our minds forever.  Ronald McNair, only the second African American to go into space, Christa McAuliffe, the school teacher going into space for the first time and five others lost their lives that day. I recall the shock,sadness, silence and questions. Ronald Regan was president... 25 years ago...

#TRUTHIS I remember sixth grade pretty vividly.  It was so much fun being at the Jr. High! We were so cool ;) . Big headed Shawn beatboxing in the hallways, meeting at the lockers, passing notes, talking to the 8th grade boys (hehe), trading lipsticks and earrings-lol. That was the same year my science teacher, Mrs. Hollis wrote on my progress report "The more lipstick she has on, the more belligerent she is!" Really, Mrs. H? Belligerent? Geez.  I digress...

 #TRUTHIS Photo of the day goes to my sister, KELLEY!  My beautiful twin is getting her swag back in full effect after having my darling little nephew, Kapow!  She is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.  Shout out to her for sticking to her guns and not letting outside influences interfere! (I know I was one.)  We all know a little bit of drama comes with single parenting and hell, life in general. However, she has handled things with such maturity and grace.  Kole, aka Kapow, is a lucky little guy to have her as his mommy.  (and not just because of those obviously milk filled boobies, either;) ) She is back!!   I absolutely loves her completely! She is definitely KrazyCool! It runs in the family!





Creative Genius

#TRUTHIS I am SUPER DUPER excited to go see PRINCE at Madison Square Garden on February 7^th.  It has been 6 years since I have seen his brilliance in concert and I am ecstatic, to say the least. Hopefully, I won't faint this time. lol  Something about the way he plucked those damn strings had me out for about 3 seconds. Crazy, right?!  

#TRUTHIS I only wish I was half as excited about my date. Sigh...

 #TRUTHISKPWORDSOFWISDOM I have learned that the heart wants what the heart wants.  There's no use in fighting nor faking it. That is one thing the mind is powerless over.  I mean, I guess you could fake it-people do it all the time, but for what? Who wants to be in a loveless and phoney relationship and why? For gifts? Financial reasons? Kids? Not to be alone? SMH.  No thanks!  I say choose happiness!  Life is to short and we are all entitled to be happy. If your heart isn’t in it, then neither are you. And neva eva eva minimize the importance of integrity. Trust is key. Don’t ever take that for granted. Think about it.  What do you have without it? Nada, zip, zilch-Nothing.  And this goes for lovers, family and friends.  Brutal honesty is MY truth.

#TRUTHIS I loved a man so much that I didn’t know how I would ever let him go completely.  I read that once you really love someone you always do but you just learn to eventually live without them.  As much as you both may want to, sometimes you really can't be just friends so don't fool yourself to think otherwise. #moveontosomethingbetter   

#TRUTHIS I get scared sometimes because there are so many things I desire to have in my life but so many hills I have to climb to get them.  On the other hand, fear can be crippling so if you give it too much power then it can destroy your dreams and I AM NOT HAVING THAT!

#TRUTHIS I wonder how my life would have been different if I had always been thin.  Being overweight allowed me to develop in areas that I probably never would have if I just had my beauty alone.  So many beautiful people are some of the most insecure because people put them on such a high pedestal that they constantly feel like they have so much to prove.  There are some benefits to being thick and confident so #LETS GIVE IT UP FOR THE BIG GIRLS!  However my big girl ass is hitting up the gym on the regs cuz I have developed enough. O K K K!

#TRUTHIS whenever I watch Beyond Scared Straight on A&E, I can’t sleep.  DIABLA has scarred me for life with that tattoo beard and when she said, “I am the devil, they call me baby devil…I’ll walk up in somebody else’s hood and just smoke you, I don’t ever do drive bys, I wanna see you die” OMG could you imagine having to share a cell with her, I’D DIE! #IAMAPUNKASS 

And last but not least, #TRUTHIS I really miss Jax, Jemma, Op, and the boys of Sons of Anarchy.  You thought I was going to say something profound, didn't you?  LOL!! The Jetsons

Woke up this AM thinking about the Jetsons! Really, I was so tired and not feeling like getting outta bed.  I mean, it is 2011 and we have come so far in technology. Why can't we get out of bed, hop on a moving sidewalk, get showered, dressed, teeth brushed, hair combed and breakfast- all without leaving the moving sidewalk? That same moving sidewalk took George Jetson to his “door” which dropped him right into his “transportation” to get to work!  It wasn't a car, more like a cool ass space flyer. Not really feeling the space flyer on the regular. But, then again didn't Wonder woman have an invisible jet? Hmmm, now that I could do! I'll pass on the robot (what if they turn on you- like in so many movies) and could do without that hyper ass dog, too.  #TRUTHISrandomthoughts

Speaking of advances, for you iPhone and Droid users, are you up on the relatively new app Tikl? #TRUTHIS it is the hotness and it's free! It's like direct connect, so popular with blackberry. You just push a button to talk. The alert startled me (yes, startled) the first time I got contacted through it, but it's cool.  Walkie talkie type ish. Progress for us non bb folks. Ms. Lopez on Idol

 So, a new season of American Idol has begun.  Unfortunately, it interferes with Modern Family and other interests, so I didn’t watch 95% of it.  And #Truthis, I probably won’t watch it again until it’s down to the finals.  However, from what I saw, I think Stephen Tyler will be an interesting addition. Randy is Randy, and JLo will add some eye candy for the gents as well as the ladies. Here's to hoping she follows Paulas lead and sticks to the kind words when it comes to critiquing.  I ain’t mad at Jlo though.  She is dancing, acting and singing off key all the way to the bank!  Did y'all see Jimmy Kimmel's interview with Randy Jackson? JK asked RJ what he would rate JLo’s singing on a scale of 1-10.  Randy said 7. (He was clearly being nice. We all know that she would have been sent home with quickness on AI.)  Here comes the comedy… JK then asks RJ:  What if JLo tells a contestant that they can't sing? If I were the contestant, I would say you can’t either!  #Truthis JK said what we were all thinking.

Don’t you just love to sing? Even the ones of us that can’t do it, love it! In the shower, car, home, church, street, subway, stage…wherever!!  #Truthis they were JAMMING on the radio the other night.  Quiet storm was in full effect.  I was sangin (yes sangin) so damn hard in the car that I actually damn near choked! Serious Biz. I mean, Jennifer Hudson “And I am telling you”, Luther Vandross “I’d rather”, Janet Jackson “Again”, Howard Hewitt “Say Amen”, James Ingram “Find 100 ways”. It was no joke!  When it’s just YOU and on occasion, maybe a few of your closest girls-that’s when you are truly gettin’ it!  Oh and fellas, I know y’all be gettin’ it too when you are in that zone. I can hear you now, trying to get your Usher and Jamie Foxx on!  Although, I doubt you would ever admit it… I love it though!  Those are some of the best alone times.  And that's the triple truth, Ruth!

I wish I could really sing. Well, I probably can as well as Jlo.  My girl, Mimoza and I used to get standing ovations when we would sing "bootylicious" on karaoke night. Although, admittedly, that probably had nothing to do with the singing…or did it? ;)

I am still laughing about the lip synching “studio sessions” with the Love Queen and loving how krazycool we really are! After we started "singing", LQ was like “um, let’s just lip sync.” That ish is comedy at its finest! And we didn’t just stop at one, folks. Oh, no- there are multiple recordings! J  Imagine if we really could sing...

Well, let's just say this would be a whole different type of blog.

As we move past the holiday weekend, #TRUTHIS would like to say Happy Birthday to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr! He would have been 82 years old.

I played his "I have a dream" speech for my kids. To my surprise, they listened to the whole thing. It's difficult for them, like most of us, to understand inequality at all.  Try explaining inequalities based on the color of a persons skin to a six year old! It sounds just as stupid as it is. Many questions were asked and "ignorance" was the most common answer given.  We still have a long way to go, but we have come a long way, indeed.  Thank YOU, Dr. King!

I highly recommend a visit to the King center as something that you do at least once in your lifetime. http://www.thekingcenter.org/  The King center, established by Mrs. Coretta Scott King, is a living memorial dedicated to the legacy of Dr. King. While attending Spelman College and living in Atlanta, I attended a sevice at Ebenezer Baptist Church, took a tour of his childhood home and visited The King Center, where he and now, Mrs. Coretta Scott King are buried together in a mausoleum.  His eldest sister, Dr. Christine Farris King, is a professor at Spelman and I felt blessed to simply be in her presence.

Dr. King, like my father and grandfather, was an alum of Morehouse College in Atlanta. My father was a student there when Dr. King was assassinated. As a member of the glee club, he sang at his funeral, which, following the service at Ebenezer Baptist Church was held at Morehouse. He, like so many others can recall it all as if it all were just yesterday... And really, it was...

Below is an excert from the conclusion of his final speech.

"I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land. And I'm happy, tonight. I'm not worried about anything. I'm not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.." (King, Martin Luther.  "I've Been to the Mountain Top." April 3, 1968)

WTH?

#TRUTHIS  Gucci Mane looks like a dayum fool with this ice cream tat on his face.  Is he serious?  I hope they have saved his bed in the mental ward and got a bed for themselves since they thought it was good idea to let him out.  I mean come on Gucci, your rap career is not that substantial and there is a great chance that you might have to do something else with your life.  I hate to be cold but BRRRRR on the side of your face is a guaranteed spot in the unemployment line. 

#TRUTHIS I am really loving Keyshia Cole's album, Calling All Hearts, which I was kinda hating on initially.  I thought she had gone MJB Love & Life on me, you know when Mary fell in love and her once touching/relatable lyrics fell down the drain.   However KC proved me wrong and I am loving quite a few of the tracks on her latest album.  Some of my favs are Long Way Down, Where Would We, Sometimes, Confused In Love and Last Hangover.  Worthy of Checkin Out!

#TRUTHIS I AM IN A FULL FLEDGED LOVE AFFAIR WITH ME.  No resolutions for me this year, no vow that I will meet my husband this year, have kids and no fantasies that this year will be without obstacles. However this year I am breaking thru and promising to live outside of my box by do things different than I've never done before.  Different results don't come through the same actions so it is time to switch the game up. On 12/31/10, I said goodbye to host of things such as fear, liars, worry, old love and fake friends. For the first time in my adult life, my energy is completely clear and nothing that doesn't love me is holding me.   My cousin Niki once told me eventually the day will come when you will trade in quantity for quality and sure enough that day did come. Now for me life is way more focused on what's right and less on what's wrong.  My joy is no longer determined by my circumstances but by the way in which I choose to get thru it all.  My keys to success are thinking good thoughts, believing God for better, and working like there is no tomorrow.

2011 arrives. I am ready! New beginning and new opportunities. Time to remove the dead weight, think twice, and for goodness sake, time to put those pending plans into action!    

The first morning of 2011, I wake up in my hometown of Saint Louis, to the news that three people had been shot and killed.  (CQ Press has recently recognized St. Louis as the most dangerous city in the United States.) (St.Louis Beacon) #TRUTHIS NYE is just another night.  Shortly thereafter, Teena Marie dies, The RAMS lose (Yes, I know it was a long shot, but I put on for my city-lol), I realize that someone that I thought was a friend-isn't, I didn't win Mega Millions, some jackass decides to break into the family compound and to top if off, my kid gets pneumonia!

Let us not forget the birds falling out the damn sky- dead! Fish washing up on the Chesapeake- dead.  Very disconcerting.  Sign of the times? No doubt. Sarah Palin telling folks to “RELOAD”… Congresswoman Gifford getting shot in the head along with other innocent bystanders getting shot, wounded and killed all during a peaceful venture…WTH!  Just this past weekend, a friend’s cousin, a Baltimore police officer in civilian clothing trying to break up a fight at a club ends up dead due to fellow officer’s fire. He was 33 years old.  Hello 2011- all this before we are even 10 days in- and that ain't even the half! 

Alas, as my girl, Gina says “Put your positive hat by the door, so that you don’t forget it on your way out!” So, here we go- Hello again 2011! I woke up today and so did those near and dear to my heart-I pray! I re-connected with a couple of old friends and though time had passed- the love is still the same.  I completed a survey and won $300 (not sure what happened there because seriously, those things don’t happen to me).  And the best part- I had one of the best holiday, quality time sharing moments with the fam. It is always wonderful, but there was something about this year that really stood out to me.  Maybe it was expressing one by one what we were thankful for and how blessed we really are or maybe just the quality time that we shared, knowing that at that exact moment, place and time that - that was where we were meant to be.

So, with my positive hat tied on tight, I am looking forward to this year and the changes that are to come. My daughter is about to lose her first tooth, which brings me excitement for her and for myself! Myself, due to the fact that I will be able to play a somewhat super hero ;) I am all ready to pull out the glitter and sprinkle it on the floor showing her that the tooth fairy really did appear!  Ahh to be a child again. To believe in magic and not know the reality of disappointment.  To never have been told that your dreams CANNOT come true. In this day and age, anything is possible and I dare someone to tell my children anything different!

Currently, I am in a good place (Thanking GOD for that) and enjoying every moment, as I know that just as trouble don't last always, neither do the good times.  I have got some work to do, and I am ready and re-energized! Yesterday is gone, but hopefully lessons were learned.  There is always NOW! And we must take advantage of NOW. For what lies ahead, we cannot be certain of...our clocks are ticking y'all.

The first step is to get your mind in a good place. Thoughts are more powerful than people realize.  Think about it and let's make this a truly Happy New Year!  Peace.

Welcome to TruthIsKrazyCool, let me re-introduce myself...My name is LoveQueen aka Cristi Dianne.  I am in no way new to this blogging thing but I am very new to sharing so much of myself on a blog.  When I joined up with Kim Possible, we decided that this would be the place where we would share our truth about life, love, and everything in between.  Our intentions for this blog are to use our truth to inspire others, motivate, and of course do what we do best, ENTERTAIN. 

I call myself a LoveQueen because there is nothing better to me than being loved by myself, my family, my friends and my guy (Don't have one that is all mine yet but I'm claiming it).  No I'm not a mom even tho all my lil cousins are my kids and not yet a wife even tho I have taken care of a few men like I was.  What I am is a free-spirited, loving life only child with a heart of platinum (gold is played out).  Also I'm a person who is often referred to as crazy but all the time referred to as cool. The coolness runs in my bloodstream and if you met my Dad then you would know exactly what I am talking about. 

Over the last year, I've had some pretty immense changes that transcended my life and lead to me finding the purpose in my pain.  Cancers (my zodiac sign) are tenacious individuals so none of my challenges broke me, everything has made me something better than I was before.  I captapulted from being an immature young lady into a GROWN ASS WOMAN who happens to still be slightly boy crazy with teeny bopper crushes on Chris Brown and Trey Songz. 

Oh yes I'm quite the character but I bring a wealth of optimism, laughter in the face of adversity, dreamy fantasies, and realtime reality. I promise each of you the TRUTH so get ready cuz some of it might hurt....lol

KIM POSSIBLE....

Who is KimPossible?  I'm definintely not a Superhero, but I do rock that S on my chest -as all of us women should! I am every OTHER woman.  I am a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.  I say “other” because to me to say EVERY would just not be accurate. My life has been SOMETHING…special that I know was created just for me.  I love life and spontaneity! I believe everything happens for a reason and that the people that come into our lives for a “reason, season or a lifetime” are GOD’S will.  I am who I am because of them.  I would not change a thing. No, I have never been homeless, starving or faced the reality of the front lines. Nor, am I considered a celebrity, by anyone other than my kids. (Well, there maybe a few others- lol)  But, I have had to deal with some harsh realities of my own. Good and bad, but #TRUTH IS no matter what a person goes through, their reality is exactly that-their own.  So, I have learned not to judge merely by circumstance, if at all.  

Born under the sign of the bull, I ride hard for my family and friends and believe experience is definitely the best teacher. (Hard-headed)   I don't watch RHO anything nor basketball wives, etc.  TMZ is enough for me ;) I've got all of the entertainment that I need through my kids and living this dynamic, educational journey and blessing, called life.

So, come get to know us a little better.  This ain’t reality TV, no checks are coming our way, but the truth will set you free and #TRUTHISKRAZYCOOL.  LET'S GO!
